How to Strengthen Teeth & Keep Them Healthy

4 Tips to Get Stronger Teeth

The more you know about what can damage your teeth, the more you might feel like most things you put in your mouth can hurt your tooth enamel and gums. While this may be true, the good news is that there are many ways to protect your tooth enamel and help make your teeth stronger and healthier. You can counteract tooth damage by following these healthy-mouth steps to replace lost minerals, keep teeth strong, and help build back weakened enamel.

Number-01

Protect Your Teeth with a Dental Seal

Getting the dentist to seal your healthy teeth with a dental sealant will provide a thin protective coating on them.

Number 2

Floss at Least Once Daily

Flossing is an important part of good oral care as it helps remove food particles and plaque between teeth. This makes bacteria less likely to stick to your teeth and turn into hard tartar, which can only be removed by the dentist and professional dental tools. Be sure to floss at least once per day to protect your enamel and keep your teeth healthy.

Number 3

Change Out Toothbrushes

It is recommended to replace your toothbrush 3 to 4 times each year. Be sure to use soft-bristle brushes that are gentle on the teeth and gums and do not wear away enamel and gum tissue. Also consider an electric toothbrush that cleans teeth effectively without being too abrasive.

Number 4

Use a Fluoride Rinse After Meals

Fluoride makes enamel stronger and sturdier and helps prevent teeth from decaying and developing cavities. Rinsing can help dislodge food stuck to teeth or between the tooth and gum. Rinsing with a fluoride-fortified, anticavity mouthwash like LISTERINE® Total Care Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash can help keep your tooth enamel strong & protected.
